How to make a Facebook QR code
- Find your Facebook linkOpen your page, tap ⋯ → Copy link. For a page with a username you can just type the username.
- Paste it into the generatorGroups, events, posts and Marketplace listings all work.
- CustomizeFacebook blue (#1877F2) works well for the frame; keep the dots dark.
- Download and testCheck that the link opens the right page on a phone that's logged out of Facebook too.
What can you link to?
- Business page:
facebook.com/yourpage - Personal profile: useful for creators and freelancers
- Group: community, alumni or customer groups ("Scan to join")
- Event: let people RSVP from a poster
- A post or video: a promotion, a menu post or a giveaway
- Messenger: use
https://m.me/yourpageto open a chat with your page directly
The code contains your normal Facebook link with no redirects, so it works on every phone and never expires.
Where Facebook QR codes work well
- Local businesses: counters, receipts and takeaway bags: "Like us for daily specials".
- Clubs, schools and churches: notice boards linking to the community group.
- Events: posters linking to the Facebook event so people can tap "Going" and get reminders.
- Marketplace sellers: print a code on flyers for items you're selling.
Tips for more scans
- Say what's in it for them: "Join our group for member-only deals" outperforms "Find us on Facebook".
- Make sure the page is public. Logged-out visitors should still see something useful.
- Use Messenger links (m.me) for questions: customers can message you instantly, similar to a WhatsApp QR code.
- Print large enough: about 2.5 cm minimum on flyers, 10–15 cm on posters. Check with the size calculator.
Page, group or event: which link should you use?
Think about what you want people to do in the next ten seconds. If you want long-term followers who see your posts, link to the page and offer a reason to follow. If you're building a community where members talk to each other (a running club, a parents' association, a customer user group), link to the group, because people feel more involved when they can post. For anything with a date, link to the event: Facebook reminds everyone who taps "Going" or "Interested", which noticeably improves turnout. And if your goal is to answer questions or take orders, a Messenger link (m.me) turns a scan straight into a conversation.
You can make one code per goal and place each one where it fits best: the page code on packaging, the event code on the poster, the Messenger code on the counter.
Troubleshooting
"This content isn't available right now." The post, group or event is private or restricted by age or country. Check the audience setting (Public) and the page's country restrictions.
People see a login screen. Facebook shows less to logged-out visitors, especially for groups. For public information, link to the page or a public event, not to a private group.
The link is very long. Facebook share links often include tracking parameters (?mibextid=…, &rdid=…). Delete everything from the question mark onwards; the link still works and the code gets simpler.
Facebook events: the best use of a QR code
An event link is ideal for posters and flyers. People who tap "Interested" or "Going" get reminders before the event, see updates if anything changes, and can invite friends. Make an event QR code as well if you want people to add the event to their phone calendar without Facebook.
Messenger for quick questions
A code with https://m.me/yourpagename opens a Messenger chat with your page. Set up an automatic greeting and frequently asked questions in Meta Business Suite so people get an instant answer.

- Page name and profile picture recognizable.
- Frame text says what people get: "JOIN THE GROUP", "SEE THE MENU", "RSVP".
